Found a factual error?
Wanna yell at me for my opinions?
Or just talk?
Why this blog?
Because it is my job to think about the things I write about.
And spending a lot of time thinking about these topics makes you want to find a space to lay your thoughts to rest.
So you just hate X?
I don't fundamentally hate any technology, but I think that there is a lot of bad faith in a lot of discussions about certain technologies.
Ultimately, our job as developers is to find the best solution to our problem. Emphasis on, there has to be a problem to be solved.
A lot of people will put the solution before the problem, and that's how we get bad software.
Any topics I discuss here are problems that I've run into, that I'm actively looking for solutions for, or have found solutions to. I think it's worth talking about.
How are you qualified to talk about X?
My analysis is based mostly on personal experience, talking to people, and making educated guesses.
I may or may not be qualified to talk about these topics, but either way, you shouldn't just rely on a random stranger's opinion.
I will always encourage people to think critically themselves, but I'm also excited if someone finds perspectives they can relate to in my writing.
There's a significant chance that I am wrong every once in a while, but that doesn't make my approach any less valid. Only time can tell apart fools from prophets, and I'm willing to try my hand at prophecy.
I found an Em Dash in an article. That's what AIs do!
I may or may not write an article about the irreparable damage AI has done to literature.
It is genuinely sad how paranoid we have to be nowadays, and I hope that we can fix this at some point in the future.
Odds are that it will get even worse :(
